No One NEEDS Product Placement

I just saw a trailer for Nicktoons MLB. Yes, that is the title. This is a Nicktoons baseball game, which pits Nick characters against ACTUAL MLB PLAYERS. I don't think this is a good idea. Just because it's a baseball game, doesn't mean it needs a brand name label.

A Review Longer Than Twelve Words: Thor

Thor is supposed to be one of the first misadventures for the Norse God, but it isn't the best at doing that. Most important Thor happenings are either skipped over or mixed around in this movie. In the comics, a scientist, I don't remember his name, found a cane and when hitting the ground it became Mjolnir, Thor's hammer. In the movie they just skip over that topic and use a fake I.D. with his name on it to free Thor one of the many times he's been captured by authorities. The story revolves around Thor, his sister and other Godly friends, and his human love intrest. In the beginning, Thor is being crowned king at a ceremony, when some creatures from an ice planet, I don't remember their names either, are trying to steal a box. This is no ordinary box, it freezes stuff. Large quantities of stuff. Before they can reach it, Odin, Thor's father, sends Destroyer, a robot like oven monster fighter thing, to take care of them. Thor feels Asgard is threatened, so he bouts with his father about attacking the creatures, which ends up being him and his friends going there anyway. A big fight breaks out, and the only gargantuan monster in the movie is in it. Long story short, Odin is mad, Thor is banished, and he meets his love intrest. This movie is one of those, a-young-hero-coping-with-a-completely-different-environment-like-movies. Also, there is a cleched yet always works, love-intrest-with-no-powers concept. In the actual story of Thor, there is another God, named Temptress, that, when in Midgaurd, or Earthrealm, makes herself appear human, and Thor falls for her. Eventhough they took the world of Thor and put it into a blender, this movie is still worth watching. I give it a 3/5

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

The trailer for The Walking Dead season 2 is out and it's AWESOME! If you're like me and saw the first season you'll love it. If you're more like me and read the original graphic novel you'll love it even more.
Watch it here: http://www.amctv.com/the-walking-dead/videos/the-walking-dead-season-2-trailer-from-comic-con
I'm probably going to start reviewing the newest episodes when the series starts. The show doesn't directly follow the comic book so I think it's safe to say it's more or less a seperate story. Unfortunately, the trailer doesn't show hints of Tyreese or Michonne (aka zombie slaying samurai) but I guess we're just going to have to wait.

X-Men First Class Review yay yay Spoiler Alert

A few days ago I saw X-Men: First Class. One word: amazing.
The movie could of been my new favorite superhero film, but a few things held it back which I'll get into later. The movie begins, once again, with a Magneto (aka Erik) origin scene. He's in a Nazi concentration camp, his mom's taken away, he gets his powers yada yada yada. This time, however, it is expanded. One of the Nazis who we later learn is Sebastion Shaw takes an interest in Erik's surfacing powers. He kills Erik's mother and it is discovered that Magneto's powers are unlocked by rage. Flashforward a few years and Erik is now a superpowered Nazi hunter and things start getting interesting.
Let me make myself clear. Erik is the main reason I loved this movie. His actor did a terrific job that could probably get an Oscar nomination if superhero movies weren't shafted so much by the Academy. His counterpart, young Xavier, is also excellent. In this movie he is portrayed in a way never seen before, drinking, flirting, and with hair. Erik and Xavier meet eachother and strike up an unlikely friendship (a hippy and a murderer) and so the plot begins. The movie in a nutshell is about Erik and Xavier finding and hthis movie is set in the 1960s or whatever." That being said, I did like most of the mutants they found with the exception of Angel (female not the X-Men 3 Angel). Plot notwithstanding, I didn't like the character much in the first place. Sure, she can fly but the power to spit lava? I've got to admit it sound kind of cool on paper, but in the movie, it was so stupid. My favorite character was Darwin who had the power to adapt to his surrounding (ex. If he stuck his head in a fish tank, he'd grow gills). I felt kind of disappointed when his character was killed off later. All in all the movie is great, but if you know anything about the X-Men, you'll pretty much know the ending. Magneto and X are just too different in ideals so all good things must come to an end. It's like watching the Star Wars prequels, you already know what's about to happen, but you want to watch the movie to see the how.

Random Thoughts: Beast's make up is kind of stupid
Mystique was a character done very well exept...
In the comics, Mystique and Azazel were supposed to mate and create Nightcrawler but nothing in this movie remotely hinted at that

Resurrection

I seriously thought this blog was dead. I was the last to post on it about a month ago, and just stopped so Max could get his fill, but then I just plain forgot. Anyway, I has a Youtube account, so if you want to check it out, go to youtube.com/jtjelani I'll have some videos up sometime after Wednesday, but check out the videos I've liked and favorited. My first video will be an introduction vid and my second, because it's so easy to upload, will be a Roblox gameplay. Check it out then either on this blog or my Youtube account, comment saying what videos you like to watch, and what genres you like as well.
